How the The 411 for the 719 roster works
What our tiers and badges mean — so you know what we have and haven't checked.
We help you find local pros — but we're a directory, not a recommendation engine, and we don't warrant anyone's work. Here's exactly what our tiers and badges mean, so you know what we have and haven't checked.
Listing tiers (these affect the order you see businesses in)
- Prime — our top tier: a premium supporting member, confirmed by The 411 for the 719. Listed first. (Prime is a paid membership.)
- Verified — confirmed by The 411 for the 719. Listed after Prime. (Verified is also a paid membership.)
- Standard — a free community listing. Not confirmed by The 411 for the 719 — please do your own due diligence.
Within a tier, businesses are listed in random order, unless designated featured.
What we verify
- Licensed — matched to a Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies (DORA) professional license.
- SecState ✓ — matched to Colorado Secretary of State records: the business entity is registered and in good standing. (A sole proprietor operating under their own name shows DBA Self instead.)
- PPRBD ✓ — matched to a Pikes Peak Regional Building Department trade license.
- Pending Validation — we're confirming a part of this particular record. It's a neutral status — it doesn't mean anything is wrong.
Referral listings & how we're paid
Most of our roster is supported by the memberships above. Two categories work a little differently, and we want to be upfront about it:
- Real estate agents are referral listings. If you ask us to introduce you to an agent, that agent pays a 15% referral fee to Iconic Colorado Properties and Rob Thompson, Realtor®, and a portion of that supports The 411 Foundation. You'll see and agree to those exact terms before any contact is shared — and it never costs you anything (the fee comes out of the agent's commission, not your pocket).
- Mortgage lenders are not paid listings. They're included through a reciprocal referral arrangement — no fee changes hands; the lender simply acknowledges it before contact is shared.
We list these members first within their category because they take part in that referral relationship — not because we've judged them to be better than anyone else. The choice is always yours: compare your options and do your own due diligence.
Always do your own due diligence before hiring. A badge tells you what we checked — it never replaces your own judgment.
